editted (110813): update on reviews of the PV flavours!
Wanted to spend the remaining two days of the 3-month holiday more meaningfully, so Claudia and I decided late last night to go cafehopping today.
So much fats, but oh so worth it. -rubs tummy in glee-
First stop of the day was... d'Good Cafe.
Was researching for a good cafe for brunch and amongst many other cafes, we chose this (actually i chose it i think) because it's convenient, affordable (as compared to the rest) and has cute latte art (which we unfortunately did not have the luck)!
Nestled on the second and third storey of some random shop unit on the stretch of road that has starbucks and Hatched, it was surprisingly easy to find once we came out of Holland Village mrt.
They have a order and pay at the counter system, and they will give you this beeping device for you to collect your orders once they are ready. It's a bit troublesome though because we had to keep going to the counter area to collect our food one by one. Oh, and the waiting time for food was 45 minutes when we ordered (around 1230pm) so if you hate waiting for food/you are super hungry and cannot be satisfied with having your drinks first, then I would recommend going earlier or later because it was super crowded around that time till almost 2pm.
OUR UGLY COFFEE -- Latte and Mocha.
If you order their mains (not sure if it's only the all day breakfast sets or all the mains), you can add $3 for a small coffee. We took the large ones because I thought the small was too small lol, and added an additional $1 for the latte and $2.80 for the mocha.
Should have gotten the coffee later because our coffee art sucks. There were bears and minions (yes minions) and lions, but all we got were ugly hearts :/
WILL GO BACK ONE DAY JUST FOR THE COFFEE ART.
But coffee wise, nothing special. Claudia said the mocha tasted like hot chocolate lol.
EGGS BENEDICT - $13.50
First time trying eggs benny and I kinda like it. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that but the hollandaise sauce has a sour tinge to it. Also, I didn't like the egg white part of the egg (though i usually love ALL PARTS of the egg whether fried or hard boiled or soft boiled or sunny side up) probably because it didn't complement well with the hollandaise sauce and gave some weird aftertaste. Then again, I haven't tried eggs benny before so I have no benchmark.
ENGLISH BREAKFAST - $16.50
This took super long to be ready. And the baked beans and the mushrooms were cold when we ate them. Not sure if it's because we took too long to take photos or because they were initially already like that. Didn't like the mushrooms. Everything else was okay I guess. Nothing can be compared to the english breakfast we had at wild honey though in my honest opinion (i loved their brioche), though the toast was not bad and the eggs were passable. We didn't touch the tomato though so if it was the only saving grace, I won't know also haha.
Although the food was nothing much, we still enjoyed our time there hahahah we sat there for a super long time lol. Moved seats a total of 4 times -.- (twice on the third floor and then once from the third to the second floor and once from a normal seat to a seat on the swing!)
Undeniably my favourite part of the entire cafe.
Who can resist rainbow cushions and a grass patch underneath their feet?
Went to explore their al fresco area after we were done too.
Super cute decorations all around hahah
This is on the second floor, where you order, pay and collect.
THIS IS A SCARY LIFT HAHA, TO ME THAT IS.
AND THEN WE FINALLY DECIDED TO LEAVE AFTER LIKE ALMOST 3 HOURS LOL.
AND THEN I WENT TO BUY 6 CUPCAKES FROM PLAIN VANILLA.
More at the end of this post!

Third stop of the day (Second being PV) was NONE OTHER THAN THE VERY FAMOUS
WIMBLY LU CHOCOLATES
Walked from lorong chuan mrt and it was super easy to find our way using google maps!
Took about 10 minutes
ugly photo but the sky's nice!
Never knew there was a stretch of food places in the middle of all those private housing.
But those people who live there are real lucky hahaha.
For the people who have to drive there, parking can be a problem though.
Took less than 5 minutes to get a table for 2 at 5 plus 6 in the night.
ICE LEMON TEA - $3
WAFFLES WITH SALTED CARAMEL ICE CREAM - $8.50
(can choose your own ice cream flavour and sauce to go with it)
LOVE IT. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. JUST GO TRY IT YOURSELF. Though salted caramel ice cream might not suit everyone's taste buds, but I loved how it wasn't too salty (unlike those at marble slab. i almost died of saltiness after finishing one scoop of it. did i mention how i didn't pay for it because they thought i paid and i thought shitian paid for me but she didn't SHH)
Also, I liked how the waffles were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Maybe it's psychological (since everyone says wimbly lu waffles are the best), but i choose to believe it's really that good.
MOLTEN LAVA CAKE - $6
WAH THIS IS DA BOMB MAN. SERIOUSLY DAMN GOOD I CAN HAVE LIKE ONE EVERY DAY WITHOUT GETTING SICK OF IT. Just imagine hot chocolate lava oozing out of the cake onto your spoon and into your mouth.... SALIVATES
ROOT BEER CAKE - $6
This was a little of a disappointment though everyone online says it's nice. But i kinda like root beer so i don't dislike it. Personally think that it tastes the best when together with the vanilla ice cream, otherwise the taste might be a little too strong. It's essentially just a brownie/chocolate cake with root beer chocolate sauce though. Interesting but I can do without it if i ever go back to wimbly lu again.
Would definitely try the other cakes and pies available though!!!
CAN I GO BACK THERE AGAIN NEXT WEEK OR MAYBE NEXT NEXT WEEK???
Really the place for chocolate therapy.
Nice deco here too! just love those brick walls.

And then here's MY SIX PV CUPCAKES.
Earl grey lavender and mango coconut are August's specials.
Haven't tried anyone of these six yet. Will update again.
Earl grey lavender: the tinge of earl grey is very nicely infused into the icing and the cupcake itself. I don't really like earl grey tea itself (though i love gongcha's earl grey milk tea) because the taste is very strong so I liked how this has a mild yet strong enough (to know that it's earl grey) earl grey taste in it.
Mango coconut: i do not like this. but if you love coconut, you will probably like it. there's coconut flakes EVERYWHERE (Which is why i dont like it), even in the cake itself. there's a mango centre though but i didn't try it.
Red velvet: What more can i say? I JUST LOVE IT haha. Though my parents still do not appreciate the beauty of cupcakes and how worth it is to eat the frosting (my mother dumped the cream for one of the first cupcakes we ate on the plate and was planning not to eat it until i forced her to hahahah. what for eat cupcakes if you dont eat the frosting/cream/whatever u call it! ok though i kinda forced them to eat the cupcakes with me HAHAH they were willing parties though and i paid for it!) anyway i loved their cream cheese frosting for this!
Salted caramel: the last one out of the 4 we ate for teabreak today. save the best for the last oh yeah! My parents were like "oooh it's salty one ah" HAHA. I LOVE SALTED CARAMEL, ENOUGH SAID. (though i dont love salted caramel icecream at marble slab. haha i know i know i have said this somewhere in this post already.)
Haven't tried the other two yet! one's gonna be for breakfast tomorrow and the other for supper?
OH GOSH FAT DIE ME
(editted again) Okay finished the other two. SERIOUSLY DAMN FATTENING. Six was a bad idea.

Dark chocolate ganache: ok this contains almonds.. and i dont like nuts.. but i still finished it anyway hahahaha. i liked the cupcake portion of this though and how the dark chocolate wasnt too bitter and in fact it was sweet. But ok la i liked this more than the earl grey lavender and the mango coconut (just because of the almonds)
Brown sugar cinammon: EH NICE LEH. First taste was very sweet, but i grew to like it. But then again i like all things sweet and i loved cinammon rolls last time when there was this slight craze.
