STRANGERS' REUNION

Located at 37 Kampong Bahru Road, this was the storefront that greeted us.
It might not look nice from the outside but the inside is quite cozy in my opinion.

Caffé Latte - $4.90
No comments lol i still like my iced vanilla latte from Starbucks more. Personal preference lol.

Claudia ordered their signature coffee called 'Magic' and i didn't particularly like it because it was quite bitter and i don't like the espresso taste. No photo of it but it looks like the above too actually lol.

Roast Pork Sandwich - $9.90
I have no idea if it's because we left it till the end so it got cold already(and i like my food hot) or if it's generally not say very good. The roast pork aka 烧肉 was not tender and there were chunks of it that took particularly long to chew lol. I know it's not a shop specialising in roast pork but still hahah. I liked the sauce they used though. Reminds me of the Peking Duck sauce lolol. I think it complemented the sandwich but maybe more will be good? Otherwise, the sandwich is too dry for my preference la. The salad had a weird taste to it too lol it actually reminds me of achar (which i actually like in most cases) but yet it's not as sour.
Based on the above, it actually sounds very bad but I guess it isn't that bad and is worth a try? I generally don't like sandwiches like the above cos they are too dry for me and the bread is too crispy and it's too big for my mouth LOL. And the idea of adding roast pork to a western sandwich is quite creative.

Buttermilk Waffles with Vanilla Ice Cream and Fresh Fruits - $8.50
Ate this first before the roast pork sandwich because of the ice cream which was melting away as we took photos and stuff lol. I don't see what's so special with it again lol it tastes just like any other waffle to me, though of course it looks much better and would taste better than a plain waffle. The vanilla ice cream and fruits were good complements to the waffle though, really made a otherwise normal tasting waffle better.

Overall experience was good, though I would say the food and coffee is overrated (or maybe i just don't know how to appreciate). We had the liberty to choose our own seats because we were there early on a Wednesday afternoon (like around 11.45 am-12 noon). At around 1pm, it suddenly became crowded with the office crowd and when we left, there were even people waiting for their seats. Good enough service though there was no service charge (plus point! so it came up to $28.80 for two people which is reasonable). Might go back again on a weekend for their weekend brunch or something just for their special brunch menu on weekends. And try their red velvet cupcakes too. They were staring at me throughout our meal today (and the only regret today lol partly because whatever we ordered today shared between two was not enough for me to feel full or even satisfied with the meal).

Overall: 3.5/5 stars. Cozy and relaxing environment but overrated food.
