this picture looks immensely gloomy but it was raining on and off that morning.
i realised on this trip that korean palaces are very nice hahaha. even though i only visited one. wanted to visit another one too actually but removed it from the itinerary cos there's no time.
REALLY LOVE THE REFLECTIONS IN THE WATER. though the sky's not as blue as i would like
zzz if only the sky's blue! then it wont look so gloomy
really glad this was a free and easy trip hahah if not i doubt we would be able to explore the palace so thoroughly.
pots used to ferment soya sauce and bean paste etcetcetc, not for kimchi which i originally thought it was for
and with every 3000 won entrance ticket to the palace, we get to visit this museum for free!

we were in for a long walk FINDING the bukchon hanok village.
because it turns out that the bukchon hanok village isnt an organised village where we can find all the traditional houses in one area. instead, the hanoks were EVERYWHERE.
and the below were what we managed to find after a long arduous walk and getting lost despite having google maps and asking people. thankfully, we met this group of schoolgirls who knew enough english to direct us in the correct direction though we still got lost later. and then we met this auntie who gave us a map but we were still lost lol
JUST IMAGINE, BEING LOST AND WALKING AROUND STEEP HILLS IN SUMMER, SWEATING AWAY AND FEELING IRRITATED ARGH.
and my sandals were annoying that day the buckle keep coming loose.

gave up on our search for more hanoks because we were all cranky and tired. and decided to pop by this cafe for a drink and AIRCON.

this place is damn nice to walk at. every storey is like sloped so you can just move easily from level 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 lolol i like sia haha no need to climb stairs.

but i was really here for this. PATBINGSOO. which was just meh. and it came before our main -.- WHICH IS ACTUALLY QUITE LAME. i actually think it's a given that desserts should come after the main course right? though it's also our fault that we didnt mention, but then again we don't know korean. and so, it was left to melt away when the mains came...
and i was also here to try this. DOSIRAK
cos i actually wanted to try it at HAHA's BBQ restaurant but then it sold intestines so...
supposed to shake it around till u get a mixed rice like this. beware cos the sauce actually leaks lol so the kimchi sauce was splattering all over
AND THIS IS WHY I HARDLY GET PHOTOS TAKEN ON HOLIDAYS. spot the finger at the bottom lol. it's either angle got problem or it's blur or got finger in photo etcetcetc hahahaha.
ok this photo is taken by me, and is blur too. HAHA cos i was afraid those policemen will come stop me or hit me if they saw that i was taking a photo so i did it secretly. like really. cos there was such a big group of them, we actually thought they were protesting. turned out that there were other people doing some kind of quiet demonstration or smth they were just singing so i suspect it's actually religious but then again i dunno, and the police were there to stand by.
