HABITAT COFFEE

So yesterday, I dragged shiyun to eat at Habitat Coffee with me cos it was in the vicinity and we were both at RJ mugging. (Ok I wasn't mugging. Totally slacked zzz)

Anyway, back to Habitat Coffee... Didn't take pictures of the interior though the downstairs is nicer than the upstairs which is damn squeezy. just go visit and see for yourself lol. Since i needa sleep soon, this shall be a chop chop and finish post! The above is the number plate they gave after we ordered at the counter, and they will serve us everything though there's no service charge! (damn good for money right i know)

Latte (regular) - $4.90

I liked that even though there's A LOT of people, they still did pretty latte art. And the coffee was not bad actually. Gonna go back there and try the other stuff some day.

Hello Truffle Fries - $8

DAMN FREAKING NICE. Though a little salty. Finally understand why people say it's of the same standard as PS Cafe's (though i havent tried PS Cafe before but i would assume it's damn good since it's damn atas and expensive) NICER THAN MACS FRIES! hahahah sorry that's the only basis of comparison i know heh 

 

The Shrooms - $12

Eggs Benedict with sauteed mushrooms underneath. DAMN FREAKING NICE TOO? My only basis of comparison is the Eggs Benedict from Dgood Cafe and I would say this one wins hands down! Not very generous with the hollandaise sauce though so I can't really tell if it's nice or what but it's not sour like dgood's. And just look at the oozy egg yolk below! Their mushrooms are nicely done too! Only gribe is that the sauce and mushrooms made the bread/brioche soggy and not so nice so please do eat this fast!

Black Velvet Cake - $6.90

Heard of red velvet right? But have you ever heard of black velvet?? hahaha 

Baileys chocolate cake, this is what this black velvet cake is! :)

ALSO NICE LA hahahahah DELICIOUS~ The baileys taste is subtle and not too overwhelming so i liked that. plus the cake wasn't too moist nor too dry which made it easy to eat and not too overwhelming to eat. 

All in all, I would go back again considering how it's so near my house. Better for smaller groups of people to go though cos there's only one large table. The people there are friendly enough (yet not overfriendly) too, so I kinda liked the place. As much as I don't like people asking me if i need help at retail shops and then follow me around (cos i find it a little annoying sometimes cos i really do treasure my personal space), I do like the fact that they helped us find seats and served us here at habitat coffee even though they do not charge service charge. Sometimes i would feel weird and not at ease when waiters/waitresses loiter around us waiting for us to order or to leave so they can clear our plates,  but here I'm extremely comfortable prob because they are always busy and walking around lol. Here, im comparing my experience with that at d'good yet again. As much as d'good has nice and cute latte art which draws the crowd in, they lacked that bit of personal touch (and also consistent quality of food. prob will go back to dgood to try their cakes though someday..) which I think habitat has more of. Of course, if you're looking for a place to chill for long hours, please go to habitat during non-peak hours cos it's really crowded. We nearly had to wait 45 minutes just for seats, but we were lucky enough that this group of people decided to leave. 

Prices are affordable as well. For the stuff we ordered, it was about $32 in total (shiyun didn't order a drink. oh there's free flow self serve plain water and sauces too!) which i consider relatively cheap for a cafe?

But anyway, maybe im just biased with my experience at habitat hahah (because they served us our food before the people next to us even though they ordered like before us and im convinced they like me HAHAHA ok im joking lol) but i hope you have a great experience there too! REALLY MUST ORDER THE TRUFFLE FRIES AH! (unless you dislike fries/potatoes/fried food!)

Now now, they should pay me hahaha this sounds so much like an advert minus the lack of professional food describing and phototaking oops. 

Okay, realised some parts of the post don't really make sense cos my thoughts keep jumping everywhere. But i really gotta go sleep now before I wake up at 6 tmr T.T MONDAY BLUES I TELL YOU.
